Established in 1971 the Foothills GC Championship Course is a long time favorite of Denver area golfers. This par-72 course was designed by Richard M. Phelps.
Stretching to over 6,900 yards from the back tees, Foothills is a parkland course with mature trees, plentiful water hazards, strategic bunkering, quality conditioned fairways and greens found at very few public golf facilities. The course rating is 71.1 and the slope rating is 122.
Combined with value priced greens fees, the Foothills Facility is in the top three Denver Metro area courses for golf rounds played annually.

Good conditions. Course has variety although not particularly picturesque.

The course is well designed with a mixture of trees and sand traps placed in punishing positions. the numerous dog-leg left fairways creates a challenging dynamic coupled with fairways that run to the right. The rolled greens make this course one of the best on the west side of town. Very nice people in the clubhouse and on the course. I would like to see a rating system at the starter shack and on the scorecard to encourage players with a handicap higher than 10 to play from the WHITE TEES - it would help improve pace of play and overall satisfaction.

I play this course at least twice per week all summer and half the winter. Still an enjoyable challenge

Challenging layout. maturing better than I am. I learned to play on this course. It is a fun place to play, but not a resort or vacation course. The bar / restaurant are always good and a good place to go for lunch, even if you are not playing. This course is a success story. Started by Recreation district, money from this one helped build others, sports fields etc. Will see in the long run how it goes.

Since building a new irrigation system in 1996, the course has matured to the point it can not be played strictly as 'hit short and run up'. The redesign of hole #4 has provided safety for those on #5 tee. The past few years the greens have been rolled and this also puts a premium on approach shot placement and the short game. This year, construction of forward tees for disabled golfers has been stepped-up.

For winter conditions this course is in good shape. No leaves , no Goose poop, grass is a good lenght. Greens are a tad bumping. The greens are hard ( yes it is winter) so fixing indentations is difficult. Surfaces of some greens need to be rolled smoother. But that is just me being picky.
